It began as a gathering of friends. Arianna threw a "gnome party," whatever that was. A few friends showed up on her doorstep dressed as gnomes and together they whittled the afternoon away making gnomes. But at the end of the night, Arianna was quite impressed with their creations. She wondered if these gnomes could possibly be used to do good. Could they possibly be used to support a noble cause? And so, Everyone Deserves a "Gnome" was born.
Everyone Deserves a "Gnome," makes a pun of a strong belief Arianna holds: everyone deserves a safe, warm place to call home. The project's goal is to increase awareness about homelessness in New England as well as to provide financial support to the Upper Valley Haven. The Upper Valley Haven, located in White River Junction, VT, is a temporary shelter and food pantry that serves over 10,000 people each year. The Haven provides shelter, food, case management, clothing, academic support and enrichment activities, and learning opportunities to families and adults experiencing homelessness, as well as community members in need. Everyone Deserves a "Gnome" donates all profits to the Upper Valley Haven. |
